Top Tips for Cleaning Your Outdoor Commercial Pool

Whether at a hotel or housing complex, an outdoor pool is a major selling point and popular amenity during the spring and summer months. That is, of course, if it is kept clean and well-maintained. Here are several quick tips to follow when preparing your outdoor pool, such as the commercial pool supplies that you need to keep on-hand:

Remove Debris and Empty Skimmer Basket

Do not allow a single leaf or other form of seasonal debris to remain in your pool. Use the appropriate net to remove all floating debris from the pool before you start to worry about which pool cleaner (such as those sold by Pulsar Systems) is the most suitable option.

Vacuum Out the Pool Thoroughly

You may want to rush through this part of the process, but that would be a big mistake. Take your time by moving gradually in a parallel yet overlapping style. It is highly recommended to start at the wall first and then work your way towards the drain. Remember, there is a host of commercial pool supplies available to assist with the overall cleaning and debris removal process.

Do Not Forget about the Water

Even after the outdoor pool is cleaned, you will still need to check the quality of the water itself. Fortunately, there are quite a few high-quality testing strips that you can use to check the alkalinity, salinity, calcium hardness and pH levels of the water.

Make sure that you pay close attention to the instructions provided on the box, especially when it comes to properly grading the test and how long to leave the water on the strip for the most accurate results.

Create a Schedule for Ongoing Maintenance

Once your commercial pool is ready for the public, you may then focus on hiring a lifeguard and spreading the word as far and fast as possible. However, the cleaning and maintenance of your outdoor pool is not a one-time task that should only be done at the beginning of the season. You should create and coordinate a cleaning and maintenance schedule for yourself and any applicable staff member to help care for the pool throughout the season as well – keeping it clean, safe and in good condition.

An outdoor commercial pool is a popular amenity provided by hotels and housing complexes. It is a facility which is mostly used during summer & spring. A single leaf or any other seasonal debris shouldn't be there in the pool. We should remove all the floating debris from the pool using a net and empty the skimmer basket. Then we have to vacuum out the pool thoroughly. It is not sufficient to clean the outdoor commercial pool. We should also check the salinity, alkalinity, calcium hardness & pH levels of pool water.
